About Igelle

Igelle is a Linux-based operating system distribution that is designed to run on various different devices, including desktop/laptop computers, cellular phones, mobile internet devices and other handheld computers. As much as reasonably possible, Igelle aims to produce the same user experience across all supported platforms. Igelle, as well as its various components, are all released as open source software.

Some things that make Igelle special:

Status

Igelle is still in an early development stage.

However, Igelle is already fully functional, and currently known to build well for ARM and x86 targets. Build files currently exist (with varying levels of maturity) for x86 PCs (ISO image for CD installations, with the ability to also create an installer on a USB drive), HTC Athena and FIC GTA01 (Neo1973). The generated images, however, are still not suitable for end-user use, as they are still to be considered experimental.

Download

Latest released version is v0.3.0. Following files have been made available;

ISO installer for i386 PCs (245Mb ISO)
Use this to install the Igelle PC desktop on an Intel compatible PC.

Source code archive (255kb tar.bz2)
Use this to build Igelle from scratch, and/or examine how it works and to assist with development.

Please take note that this is an unstable development release, and not ready for average end-users.
